Valentine's Day Genes Math Activity

Combine science and math in this inquisitive quick activity that is perfect to use with Valentine's Day candy. Use the provided worksheet to discuss how our genes influence our love of (and hate of) certain foods. Students note which foods they prefer over others and discuss whether their food preferences may illuminate the presence of a specific gene. Then students calculate the percentage of the class that may be "super tasters" by genetics.
